Before the beginning, there was no beginning and no end, only the eternal always, which is always there and will be there forever.
There was only the consciousness of perfect Unity.
And this unity was so total, so unlimited in its joyful extension, that it was impossible for anything to be conscious of anything that was not itself.
This is what we call: non-duality. And this is the one and only immortal reality that is called “Heaven”.
The fall into the dream of separation apparently occurred (in a dream, because maya, the world, the whole universe, is a dream) when the crazy idea of a tiny “part” of the One asked the Infinite Creator for the one thing He could not grant: “I wish to be special”.
To ask the perfect Unity to be special, to be loved and recognized in a particular way (and not Total and infinite) was the crazy idea that God could not grant, because He made us exactly the same as Himself, without any difference, total and whole. Non-separated and One.
Since this was not granted to us, the child had a whim, believing that his Father did not love him enough by not wanting to grant him his wish to be special, to be different, to be particular… And he then made the choice to create his own speciality, against the Divine will, on his side… He created his own universe (big bang) made only of particularities, differences, and multiplicity (duality).
The Only Child of God created an image of specialness of himself :
The hero of his dream… a body !
Look at your dream of human life, look at the world (maya) and you will see that it reflects only that… the wish to be particular, to be loved particularly, to be special and different.
The physical body (the visible part of the iceberg), as well as the individual soul (the hidden part), is only a reflection (an effect) of the thought of separation and specialness (which is the cause of the effects you see in the dream).
This crazy idea of being special is the cause of all the suffering, which could not exist before this choice to be special.
The birth of a special body is suffering (babies are not born smiling).
The life of the special body is suffering… The child seeks unceasingly the particular attention of another particular and special body to his eyes of body and to his so particular soul (his mother body, his father body), he wants to be loved more than the other particular bodies.
As an adult he or she looks for the particular love, the particular recognition, whether it is in love relationships, at work, or in society… always the need to be loved particularly… And as each particular body, each particular soul is unconsciously looking for the same thing, it is a war to Love (Unity/non-duality), a war to the Self… to take or destroy in order to win, to surpass “the other” for the benefit of one’s own particular self.
The desire to shine, to be noticed, to be more than… or to put oneself in the position of victim or martyr in order to attract pity which is also a form of demand for particular love. The 2 faces of the duality of the ego.
In short it is always in demand…
Look at the world!
Look at your subconscious mind!
Look at the ego!
Look at all the suffering in your illusory human life and tell me if all that suffering is not coming from a demand to be special in the eyes of a special character in your dream, or in the world of particularity in general?
In “A Course in Miracles,” J. tells us:
When you unite with me you are uniting without the ego, because I have renounced the ego in myself and therefore cannot unite with yours. ²Our union is therefore the way to renounce the ego in you. ³The truth in both of us is beyond the ego. ⁴Our success in transcending the ego is guaranteed by God, and I share this confidence for both of us and all of us. ⁵I bring God’s peace back to all His children because I received it of Him for us all. ⁶Nothing can prevail against our united wills because nothing can prevail against God’s.
(ACIM, T-8.V.4:1-6)
or again:
Awe should be reserved for revelation, to which it is perfectly and correctly applicable. ²It is not appropriate for miracles because a state of awe is worshipful, implying that one of a lesser order stands before his Creator. ³You are a perfect creation, and should experience awe only in the Presence of the Creator of perfection. ⁴The miracle is therefore a sign of love among equals. ⁵Equals should not be in awe of one another because awe implies inequality. ⁶It is therefore an inappropriate reaction to me. ⁷An elder brother is entitled to respect for his greater experience, and obedience for his greater wisdom. ⁸He is also entitled to love because he is a brother, and to devotion if he is devoted. ⁹It is only my devotion that entitles me to yours. ¹⁰There is nothing about me that you cannot attain. ¹¹I have nothing that does not come from God. ¹²The difference between us now is that I have nothing else. ¹³This leaves me in a state which is only potential in you.
(ACIM, T-1.II.3:1-13)
The one who renounces the ego needs nothing, and as J. says again in ACIM: “The one who needs nothing is worthy of all confidence”. For that He is the Christ!
That is who you are in Truth, and to whom you awaken when you have renounced all forms of specialness or particularity.
He who has renounced this in his mind can see through the other figures of the dream only the same! This is true love!
Without need, without special admiration, and without pity.
To understand what seemed to be done (in a dream and not in reality, for what God created remains forever as He created it) and to renounce it is the way to undo the illusion and thus to be free from it.
Renounce your wish to be special and let the Truth reveals itself to you :
With love,
